S3 Ep1
Activist Burnout – How do we keep going?
Description
Relentlessly working for a social change is challenging and overwhelming; taking a heavy toll on your personal well-being. As a result, activists can sometimes feel hopeless, frustrated and depressed, leading to burnout. In addition, when the scope of the fight becomes paralyzing, and activists want to take a break, they can feel like a sellout or have a fear that all the work they’ve done will go to waste.
So how do they find the perseverance to keep going? In the first episode of the third season, Brown Sugar Talk invited Keosha Love, award-winning artist, activist and educator – who creates spaces for wellness and collection liberation in marginalized communities, to share her experience, advice, and how she manages a balance with her personal well being and her activism.
