S2 Ep8

Maintaining your Mental Health during Challenging Times

Description

The current situation and its measures not only halted much of our society’s daily life but have created a heavy psychological impact on our global population. Indeed, for the past 14 months, the lockdown has affected people’s usual activities, routines or livelihoods, causing many of us to deal with mounting stress, anxiety, fear, levels of loneliness, depression, harmful alcohol and drug use, and self-harm or suicidal behaviour.

May is Mental Health Awareness. Brown Sugar Talk dedicated the finale episode of the second season to exploring ways to improve mental health in this continuing challenging time with the help of three experts. Often our mental health never gets enough care and attention, so this conversation will be empowering on many levels. April Miranda eased our minds with a special guided meditation at the end.

Testimonial

Listening to episode 8 from season 2 was absolutely enlightening. I’m so happy I learnt about Dance & Movement Therapy!
Dance being my passion it was a great discovery for me to know that I could work on my traumas while expressing myself
the best way I know-how. Keyana Jones and all the guests were fantastic!
Mental health is still such a taboo in the Black community, I’m glad that we are evolving toward a more healthy perspective of things.
