#EndSars: Nigeria’s Anti-Police Brutality Protests Have Gone Global

Description

African Americans are not the only ones experiencing police brutality. Tens of thousands of Nigerians have been taking to the streets for more than two weeks to protest against police brutality from the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS). On October 20, 2020, Nigerian forces opened fire on peaceful protesters and injured twenty-five people and killed at least seven people. As the #EndSARS movement is becoming global, join our guests Jake Okechukwu, Kenechi Chidolue, & Oyinda Daramola as they educate us further on the SARS, the impact of their brutality on the Nigerian community, and how we can help SARS protestors. Supporting the Nigerian community is just as essential as the Black Lives Matter movement in North America.

Testimonial

“I only know as much as I’ve read and watched about SARS but listening to the episode shed light on the topic from the perspectives I would have had a slim opportunity of hearing otherwise. My heart breaks for all the victims of SARS in Nigeria and the families left behind. Thank you Amy for making space for important conversations to educate, inspire, and drive action from the people around you.
